I am interested in the way pots live in the home and take on personal and cultural meaning. Not only are pots useful through their physical function, they take integral part in and aesthetically enrich the most important ritual of daily life: that of nourishing self and others. Choosing a special pot for an honored or beloved guest adds special significance to the simple act of serving food, and serves as a connection to a wide culture of makers and users in society. Meaning is built from the pot itself, from personal relationship communicated through use of the pot, and through personal connection to the maker of the pot.

All my pots are handmade using stoneware and porcelain clays, and are dishwasher, microwave, and food-safe. My pots are fired in a large, two-chambered wood-burning kiln here at the pottery.
