Kari Woolsey is a ceramic artist, originally from South Florida.
Her work focuses on the everydayness of objects and vessels around us, through making functional pottery and installations. Kari’s handbuilt pots are in terracotta and mid-range stoneware and are constructed by coiling and pinching. All patterns, colors, and shapes are inspired by the domestic realm of our lives.

Kari received an MFA in ceramics from SIU in 2018. She has completed residencies at Clay Arts Vegas, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, and New Harmony Clay Project. She was the 2020 Salad Days artist at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts. Kari is currently an Assistant Professor of Practice in Ceramics at SIU.
