Stephanie Dukat's functional and sculptural ceramics use the graphic qualities of screenprinting and inlay to create a narrative. Surface patterns used are repetitive, acting as a commentary on the suburban landscape and its experiences within domestic and natural spaces.

 

Stephanie was born and raised in Buffalo, New York where she attended Buffalo State College for Art Education and Ceramic Design graduating in 2010. In 2013, she moved to Carbondale, IL to attend graduate school at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She graduated with an MFA in Ceramics in May 2016.

 

Stephanie is the Craft Shop Coordinator at Southern Illinois University in the Student Center, where teaches various adult and children workshops in clay, fibers, and printmaking, and more. She is fortunate to make her work at White Roof Studios the studio of Harris Deller.
